General Aim of the Module
This module aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to recognize, develop, and implement innovative solutions to social challenges.
By focusing on finding social entrepreneurship opportunities, fostering creative thinking and problem identification, promoting creativity and innovation, and applying social innovation for change, students will learn how to leverage innovation as a powerful tool for positive social change.
Module Specific Objectives
- Understand how to identify unmet community needs and recognize the processes underlying social problems, laying the foundation for new social initiative.
- Increase empathy and understanding of diverse community needs to enhance problem identification skills and effectively address complex societal issues.
- Learn methods to foster creativity, such as design thinking and brainstorming, to approach social issues from new perspectives.
- Generate innovative solutions to specific societal concerns by applying creative problem-solving techniques.
- Study the social innovation process to understand how to design, test, and scale creative ideas for achieving societal change.
- Learn how to effectively implement innovative solutions from conception to implementation, ensuring sustainable and impactful outcomes for communities.
