The module of Social Business Management aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to manage social and inclusive enterprises effectively considering their key characteristics.
The module of Social Business Management provides students with knowledge for managing a social enterprise-specific business by designing (planning) the business model, developing the business plan and the strategic management for social impact and financial viability. Learners will achive knowledge on developing the social business model, based on an innovative approche supported by CANVAS application. In addition, learners will get familiar with the business plan process development. Participants learn how to develop and implement the social enterprise business strategy that supports their social mission and financial sustainably, too.

  • Explain the concept of social and inclusive business management, distinguishing it from traditional business management by focusing on its main goal for social changes, by having dual focus, innovative solutions to social challenges, and financial sustainability (viability).
  • Analyse and exploring different social business models and their applications, such as entrepreneur support, employment, and cooperative models.
  • Use CANVAS applications (online available frameworks) to develop inovative social business models in a strategic vision (long term, business sustainability).
  • Practical assignment: Participants complete a hands-on session to write a business plan, including mission, financials, marketing, and impact measurement. Feedback is provided for revision.
  • Identify and develop the essential business management skills (to university students and teaching staff) required for social and inclusive entrepreneurs, including empathy, resilience, and innovation.
