Overcoming traumatisation among young migrants and refugees

Overview of contents and certificates of attendance

In this course, we focus on recognising and preventing traumatisation either of young migrants and refugees or people who work with the refugees. Besides, approaches needed for the protection of unaccompanied minors in criminal proceedings are presented.

The course is divided into 3 lessons. No certificate of participation could be earned in this course.

Learning objectives

  • to present a conceptual framework from adolescence to adulthood that could help the refugees and migrants overcome their traumatic experiences
  • to recognise the symptoms and triggers of secondary traumatisation of people working with refugees
  • to discuss options for the protection of unaccompanied minors in criminal proceedings

Course creator

The course contents were created in the CiSoTRA project financed under Erasmus+ KA3 action. Partners involved in the project who also contributed to this course were International School for Social and Business Studies from Slovenia, Pegaso Online University, Italy, Osservatorio CSIG (CSIG) from Italy, Institut für sozialwissenschaftliche Beratung GmbH (ISOB) from Germany, and Action Synergy SA (AS) from Greece.
